Structured interviewing, without the overhead
Structured interviewing is the single most researched, evidence-backed improvement you can make to your hiring process. This is how to do it without a full hiring-ops team.
What structured interviewing actually means
It means every candidate for a role gets the same questions, scored against the same rubric, by interviewers who compared notes afterward. That’s it. It sounds simple; the reason most teams don’t do it is friction, not disagreement.
Why it works
Unstructured interviews are the single largest source of hiring noise. Studies (Google’s Project Oxygen, decades of I/O psychology research) consistently find that structured interviews are one of the strongest predictors of on-the-job performance. Unstructured “gut feel” interviews perform barely above chance.
How AROS helps
AROS drafts role-specific questions, keeps everyone working from the same rubric, and rolls the notes into the Decision Packet. You get the benefit of the discipline without the overhead of running it yourself. See Interview Intelligence.
Common mistakes to avoid
Recycling generic behavioral questions that don’t map to the role. Letting each interviewer freelance their own approach. Not comparing notes before making the decision. AROS surfaces all three as first-class parts of the workflow.
